Adult Ministries

Lay Organization

The Lay organizaion creates love and appreciation for the history and principles of African Methodism and encourages member support of the church’s goals and objectives. This is accomplished through education, service and interaction at the local, conference, district and connectional levels. All persons within the church are laity except ordained ministers.

Missionary Society

The Missionary society works with and coordinates outreach activities with local churches (those in the Second Episcopal District), oversees churches and other national and local community organizations. The Missionary society packages and ships food, medical and other supplies to Africa and other foreign countries. The Missionary society coordinates feeding, clothing and shelter programs locally. They provide, in a Godly manner, a charitable act or gift to those individuals in need of food, clothing, or financial assistance and who diligently seek it. For more information contact Sis. Usher Board

The Ushers ensure that worshipers are welcomed and seated comfortably for all services. Members of all ages are invited to serve on the Usher Board. The Ushers participate in the United Interdenominational Church Ushers Association of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. For more information contact Sis. Pamela White, President, at the church office.

Women’s Fellowship

The Women’s Fellowship is a group of women that meet every 2nd Friday of each month. We enjoy the fellowship and life application that bonds us closer together in the name of Jesus. For more information contact Sis. Pam Spearman at the church office.

Men’s Fellowship

The Men’s Fellowship comes together every 2nd Saturday at 9am under the leadership of Bro. Chester Ray. We have a great fellowship and inspirational word each month. It is open to all and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday. For more information, please contact the church office.

Children & Youth Ministries

Church School/Bible Study for Children & Youth

Our Children and Youth Church School functions as an adjunct to the worship service in order to assist children in laying and building upon the foundations of growth in the Word of God. We foster an understanding of the different components of the worship experience (communion, baptism) by using sermonettes, songs, bible lessons and regular catechism exercises to teach Biblical and A.M.E. Church principles. The children and youth plan and participate in annual Christmas, Easter, and graduation programs. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is held during the summer months. Young Peoples Department (YPD)

The YPD provides meaningful training in all aspects of church life to young men and women ages 2-26. Specific emphasis is placed on understanding evangelism, social outreach, A.M.E. church history, and building individual management and leadership skills. We provide social activities for children and youth that are educational and/or fun! For more information contact the church office.

Christian Debutantes-Master’s Dedication Commission (CD-MDC)

The CD-MDC is a youth program designed to provide Christian based learning on social graces to foster the spiritual, social, and educational growth of our children. We assist youth in assimilating knowledge derived from Youth Church, Sunday School, Bible Study, Young People’s Department (YPD), Richard Allen Youth Council (RAYC), etc., into a young adult Christian lifestyle. Tutorial Ministry/Study Hall

We provide academic support to enhance a student’s study habits and skills in specific disciplines, or in general, using one-on-one instruction. We strive to provide assistance in all subjects. This group meets Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm. For more information contact the church office.

Youth Choir

The youth choir sings at 10am Worship service the 5th Sunday of each month. For more information contact the church office.

Dance/Step Team

Our mission is to express the praises of God through dance and step showing others how to praise the Lord with their God given talent of dance. We perform on special days such as Homecoming, Easter, and Christmas. The group is open to anyone who feels the need to dance. For more information contact the church office.

Young Adult Ministry

The Young Adult Ministry at Wayman Good Hope seeks to improve the relationships of young adults with Christ. This is accomplished through encouraging our Young Adults through activities that cater to their spiritual, emotional and social needs. We establish a community were like minded individuals can experience Christ through Bible study, worship service and fellowship opportunity. The Young Adult Ministry prepares young adults to successfully handle all that life has to offer! For more information contact the church office.

The music ministry is a vital part of our worship services. We have the following choirs:

The Senior Choir Sings the Hymns and Anthems of the A.M.E. Church as well as traditional Gospel music. The choir is open to all adults. Click on the calendar for rehearsal times. The Senior Choir sings the 1st Sunday of each month.For more information contact the church office.
The Wayman Ensemble regularly sings at 10am worship service the 3rd Sunday of each month. Wayman Ensemble choir sings contemporary and traditional Gospel music. Click on the calendar for rehearsal times. This choir is open to all age groups. For more information contact the church office.
The Male Chorus regularly sings at 10am worship service on the 4th Sunday of each month. The Male Chorus sings traditional Gospel and Quartet type music. The choir is open to men and boys of all ages. For more information contact the church office.
The Youth Choir sings at the 10am Worship Service on the 5th Sunday of the month. Click on the calendar for rehearsal times. The Youth Choir is open to children and youth from age 2 – 20. For more information contact the church office.
The Wayman Gospel Choir regularly sings at 10am Worship Service on the 2nd Sunday of each month. The Gospel Choir sings traditional Gospel Music. The choir is open to all age groups. For more information contact the church office.
